Abstract
This document provides a rigorous Phase 1 synthesis of the O/0 Research Program's computational and empirical findings. It organizes results by evidence level, distinguishes clearly between what has been established, what is suggestive but unconfirmed, and what remains entirely speculative. The honest summary: the program has demonstrated that (1) boundaries can emerge computationally from homogeneous substrates, (2) the mechanism requires local prediction-error minimization and a critical coupling threshold, (3) results are robust across parameter ranges and lattice topologies, and (4) the framework can be reformulated information-theoretically. What has NOT been established: anything about physical reality, anything about consciousness, anything confirming or disconfirming the O/0 philosophical propositions. The gap between computational demonstration and physical/metaphysical claim remains entirely unbridged.

Relationship to philosophical archive
The O/0 philosophical archive motivated this research program. After Phase 1, the honest relationship is: the computational work is inspired by the philosophy but does not validate it. The philosophy remains what it always was—a set of propositions about the nature of reality—and the computational work remains what it is—a set of demonstrations about what is possible in simulations and language models. The bridge between them has not been built. Whether it can be built is an open question. Whether it should be built (given the risks of pseudoscientific over-claiming) is an ethical question the program must continually revisit.
The provenance note bears repeating: conceptual provenance is not empirical support. That the O/0 archive inspired the research does not mean the research validates the archive. The archive's propositions may be true, false, or meaningless—the research program's Phase 1 results do not adjudicate.
