Abstract

This document performs a systematic audit of the central O/0 philosophical claim that separation is functional rather than fundamental. The source archive asserts that all perceived boundaries between self and world, observer and observed, agent and environment are dynamic appearances generated within a unified substrate rather than ontologically primitive divisions. This audit decomposes that composite assertion into its constituent sub-claims, classifies each according to its epistemic category (established scientific fact, philosophical interpretation, mathematical analogy, or speculative hypothesis), and evaluates the scientific tractability of each. The purpose is to prevent the research program from treating an undifferentiated bundle of claims as a single testable proposition, and to identify precisely which components can enter the empirical pipeline and which must remain in the philosophical archive as motivational context only.

Predictions

The audit predicts that approximately 30-40% of the composite non-dual emergence claim is directly tractable, 20-30% is tractable only in reduced mathematical form, and 30-40% must remain permanently in the philosophical archive. This distribution is consistent with the general tractability of naturalized metaphysics.

Falsification criteria

Two (consciousness-as-unity, universal monism) were excluded from the empirical pipeline and returned to the philosophical archive.

Uncertainty

The boundary between "mathematical analogy" and "testable hypothesis" is not always sharp. Some claims may migrate between categories as theoretical frameworks develop. The tractability assessments reflect 2024-era computational and experimental capabilities.

Limitations

This audit addresses only the non-dual emergence cluster of claims. Other O/0 claims (regarding time, death, love, creativity) require separate audits. The classification depends on the current state of science and may require revision as new methods become available.

Replication status

The audit methodology has been applied to the non-dual emergence cluster only. Replication across other claim clusters is planned but not yet executed.
