🎛️ ARC Tools

What is ARC Mix Assistant? +

ARC Mix Assistant is the world's first conversational AI mixing assistant. It uses cutting-edge AI to:

  • Separate Stems: Extract vocals, drums, bass, and other instruments from any track
  • Analyze Audio: Get detailed technical analysis of each stem (RMS, frequency content, dynamics)
  • Give Mixing Advice: Chat naturally about your mix and receive instant, intelligent suggestions
  • Apply Adjustments: Automatically apply recommended volume, EQ, and dynamics changes

It runs entirely on your computer using your GPU, so your audio never leaves your machine.

What do I need to use ARC Mix Assistant? +

System Requirements:

  • NVIDIA GPU with 2GB+ VRAM (RTX 2060 or better recommended)
  • Windows 10/11 (64-bit)
  • 10GB free disk space (for AI models and dependencies)
  • Internet connection (for initial setup only)

The backend installer handles all setup automatically. No coding or terminal knowledge required!

How do I install ARC Mix Assistant? +

Step 1: Visit the ARC Mix Assistant page

Step 2: You'll see a setup prompt. Click "Download Installer"

Step 3: Run ARC_Mix_Assistant_Installer.exe

Step 4: The installer will automatically:

  • Check for your NVIDIA GPU
  • Download Python 3.12 (portable, won't affect your system)
  • Install PyTorch with CUDA support
  • Download Demucs AI (stem separation)
  • Install Ollama + Mistral LLM
  • Set up the backend service with system tray icon

Step 5: Wait 10-15 minutes for installation to complete

Step 6: Look for the green ARC icon in your system tray (bottom-right)

Step 7: Return to the website and click "I Already Installed It"

That's it! You're ready to mix with AI.

How do I use ARC Mix Assistant? +

Basic Workflow:

  1. Upload Track: Drag & drop an audio file (MP3, WAV, FLAC) or click "Add Stems"
  2. Separate Stems: Click "Separate Stems" (takes 1-3 minutes depending on track length)
  3. Analyze: Click "Analyze" in the Mix Assistant panel
  4. Chat: Type natural questions like "What's wrong with this mix?" or "The vocals are too quiet"
  5. Apply: Click "Apply" to automatically implement the AI's suggestions
  6. Export: When satisfied, click "Export Mix" to save your final track

Pro Tips:

  • Be specific: "Make the drums punchier" works better than "fix the drums"
  • The first AI response takes 30-90 seconds (model loading), then it's fast
  • You can manually adjust faders before asking for advice
  • Drag the panels around the screen to customize your workspace
Is my audio data private? +

100% Private. All processing happens locally on your computer:

  • Audio files never leave your machine
  • The AI models run offline (after initial download)
  • No cloud uploads, no external servers
  • Backend runs on localhost:5000 (your computer only)

This is why you need a GPU - all the heavy AI processing is local!

ARC Mix Assistant backend won't start. What do I do? +

Troubleshooting Steps:

  1. Check System Tray: Look for the ARC icon (bottom-right). Red means error.
  2. Restart Service: Right-click the tray icon → "Restart Service"
  3. Update GPU Drivers: Download latest from nvidia.com/drivers
  4. Check Firewall: Ensure Windows Firewall allows localhost:5000
  5. Reinstall: Run the installer again (it will detect existing files)

Still having issues? Email [email protected] with "ARC Backend Error" in the subject.

Can I use other ARC Tools without a GPU? +

Yes! Only ARC Mix Assistant requires a GPU (for stem separation):

  • ARC Loudness Analyzer: No GPU needed, runs in browser
  • ARC Mastering Engine: No GPU needed, runs in browser

These tools use Web Audio API and work on any modern device.

Where can I find the full guide? +

Detailed guides and documentation:

  • Installation Guide - Step-by-step setup instructions
  • System Tray Menu: Right-click the ARC icon → "View Logs" for technical details
  • In-App Help: Hover over buttons for tooltips (coming soon)
